Hotel Description

Built in 1880 and renovated in 2002, the hotel comprises a 5-storey main building with a total of 99 rooms including 91 doubles and 8 suites. Facilities include a lobby with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility, a lift and a café. A TV room, a bar and an air-conditioned restaurant are also to be found within the hotel. Furthermore, a public Internet terminal, a conference room, room and laundry services, a car park and medical services may be made use of.

Independent Report

Rooms
The bedrooms are large and comfortably decorated with traditional antique furnishings such as dark oak wood and soft fabrics trying to keep the 18th century look.

Restaurant

The restaurant is equally decorated in a very traditonal style with lovely crystal chandeliers and carved ceilings.

Exterior

The outer facade of this hotel is traditional with a lovely carved sandstone facade and corrugated iron gates and balconies painted white giving a homely look and feel.

Lobby

The lobby and reception areas are superbly decorated in a traditional style decorated with original 18th century style, highlight polished parquet flooring, marble columns with polished brass fittings and carved wood. The furnishings are of a soft pale green coloured fabric and rugs to match. The walls are brilliant white with large wooden panels at floor level thus giving a feel of antiquity.

General

This hotel is in the centre, comfortable and tastefully decorated. 05/05 (MP)

Personagens do Auto da Barca do Inferno

A primeira personagem a aparecer no Auto é o Fidalgo, com os símbolos: cadeira, manto comprido e um criado.

Tentou ir para a barca do Paraíso, mas foi para o barco do Inferno porque durante a sua vida foi má pessoa, nao ajudou os outros.

A segunda personagem do Auto é o orzeneiro, isto e uma pessoa que viveu a custa dos outros a quem emprestava dinheiro a juros muito altos.

Passou pela do paraiso, mas o anjo nao o deixou embarcar. Foi entao a barca do inferno, já que viveu uma vida desonesta.

A terceira personagem é o Joane, o parvo que depois de falar com o Diabo, vai ao Anjo que lhe dis que ele pode entrar na sua barca porque enquanto viveu não fez nada de mal.

A quarta personagem é o Sapateiro que aparece com símbolos cénicos: avental, muitas formas de sapatos.

Tentou ir para o Paraíso mas como viveu uma vida pouco correcta e pouco honesta acabou por só ter lugar na barca do Inferno.

A quinta personagem da obra é o Frade, que se faz acompanhar por uma rapariga, um pequeno escudo, uma espada e um capacete. Tudo isto nada tem a ver com a sua vida de padre.

Tentou embarcar na barca do Anjo, mas devido á sua desonesta vida, só teve lugar na barca do Inferno.

A sexta personagem é Brísida Vaz, uma alcoviteira. Como pessoa a vida a falar dos outros e até a arranjar situaçoes complicadas os outros.

Tentou embarcar para o Paraíso mas o Anjo não permitiu, mandou-a para o Inferno, onde o Diabo lhe deu passagem.

A sétima personagem é o Judeu que aparece com um bode às costas.

O Judeu embarcou na barca do Inferno porque teve uma vida desonesta.

A oitava e nona personagens são o corregedor e o procurador. O 1º aparece carregado de processos e com uma vara na mão; o procurador aparece carregado de livros. Os dois foram para a barca do Inferno, por terem sido desonesto e corrupto que também foi para á berca do Inferno.

A décima primeira personagem são os cavaleiros, que aparecem com uma cruz de cristo, com espadas e escudos.Vão para a barca da gloria pois durante a sua vida lutaram em nome de Deus.
